The holidays are when families gather—and when stories slip away. Every year, we lose chances to ask the questions that matter. These prompts help you change that.
What you'll walk away with:
These aren't generic prompts. They're designed specifically for family historians who want to capture holiday memories before they're lost—and turn them into something worth sharing.

A note about living people: When you're working with stories about people who are still alive—whether it's Aunt Marge's holiday disaster or your cousin's childhood memories—swap out their real names and identifying details before pasting into any AI chat. Use "Aunt M" instead of "Aunt Margaret," change specific addresses to general locations, that kind of thing. The AI doesn't need real names to help you write a great story, and this way you're not putting anyone's personal details into a system you don't control. It's just good practice.

These prompts help you dig into records and historical context to understand your ancestors' holiday experiences.
Purpose: Uncover the story of your ancestor's first Christmas in their new country—the cultural adjustments, the longing for home, and how they created new traditions.
